Meet Mariëlle Florijn

Our 31-year-old spider in the web! As an Office Support employee, Mariëlle ensures that everything runs smoothly. She accepts new requests, handles them, such as ordering various hardware or forwards them to her colleagues, conducts meetings and makes quotations. She also keeps the website up to date and takes care of various marketing activities.
Mariëlle grew up on a farm and now lives in the small village of De Glind. She is married and proud mother of Veralynn and Rhodee. Cleaning is my zen moment; When my house is tidy, I feel great. Although I'm not a big sports fan, I recently started going for a run in my spare time. At 5S/CI we stand for continuous growth and development and Mariëlle is the perfect example of this. With a nursing background, Mariëlle started working in healthcare at the age of 18. When she became a mother, it became a challenge to combine irregular shifts with family life. That's why she made the leap to an office job 1.5 years ago. “My passion for working with and for people has always remained. This is what motivates me, both in the past in healthcare and now in the office and with customers on the work floor.”
Mariëlle is an enthusiastic and accessible colleague who is always ready to help others. For her, an agreement is an agreement. She is accurate, customer-friendly and critical! She knows exactly how to create a pleasant (working) atmosphere in which everyone feels heard and seen. And when it comes to plans, she knows better than anyone else how to keep everything on track!
What gives you energy in your work?
I really like the diversity in my work. Sometimes it takes a little longer before customers start a process due to external factors. But when a project starts running and we turn it into a successful post on social media, it really gives me energy!
Contribute to something that exactly meets wishes
It feels good when I can contribute something that exactly meets the wishes of both colleagues and customers. Organizing is really my thing. Especially when I am responsible for a larger project and everything falls into place.
The customer journey to the Mercedes factory this year is a good example. I was allowed to arrange the organization from A to Z. The result? Everything went smoothly and the enthusiastic responses from the participants say it all. Those are the moments I do it for!
What do you think makes 5S and CI Company so powerful?
For us it really goes further than just the 5S method and continuous improvement. Every request and every company is unique, and that makes our work so interesting. We attach great importance to involvement and pragmatics; we really engage in conversations with people and look at the organization as a whole. Our team is diverse, but we all have the same drive to succeed. Because we have our standard process in order, we are flexible and can switch quickly when a lead or customer requests it. Flexibility? That's in our DNA!
Do you also apply the lean and 5s theory at home (in your daily work)?
In my house the rule is: the children are not allowed to take other toys until they have put away the previous one! I love structure, and at the end of my day everything has to be neat and tidy again. My kitchen cupboards are often more empty than full. This way I keep an overview and see exactly what I have. Even in the storage areas I know what is where. And yes, every once in a while I go through the house and throw away anything I don't use. The result? A nice, well-organized house where I always know exactly what I have and where everything is.
A look at the future
I recently completed the challenging Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training, an important step in my development. By understanding the work of my colleagues on the work floor, I can optimally guide the customer in their request for help. This knowledge allows me to better respond to their needs and ensure our team works together efficiently. I look forward to working on the work floor more often in the future. This way I can put theory into practice and further develop my skills, while contributing to higher customer satisfaction!
